Loteria Lingerie

 I drew a picture of the undergarment and then put it on velum and put different lace fabrics on it.  I outlined it with gold seed beads and put it on a Loteria card.

I thought I would draw myself today.  I like the blue shirt against my hair.  I also wanted to add some color so I used chalk.

Happy 10th Birthday Covenant School

Emme helped me make this giant cake for her school's 10th birthday.  We had so much fun together.

School lunch today was a chicken biscuit with homemade slaw baked apples and grapes. 

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...and again.

I wanted to do an ink painting of one of Edison's photos.  Well the first one I did without sketching it first and it was terrible.  The second was still not there but the third was much better.  Not perfect, but better.  I put the photo under the final painting.

The Boy

My son was nice enough to let me dress him up and take a few photos today.

I wanted to make a necklace out of pieces and supplies I had around, never wore, or were broken.  Here is the finished product.

I really don't like this drawing at all.  I waited to long to get started today and am now pooped out.  I keep running out of room on my paper.  Something I have to work out in the future.  I think I will have to revisit this pose soon.

Lunch today was a chili cheese potato.

I liked yesterdays drawing so much better.  This one gave me more of a challenge and was not going the way I was wanting it to.  I might try it again tomorrow.

I don't remember what they called the main dish at lunch today.  I know the maintenance staff did not enjoy cleaning up all the smashed peas off the floor.

I have an old workout record with some great photos on the cover.  I have decided to draw them and maybe paint them later.  Here is the first and the easiest of this series.

A Brown Egg, A Raw Banana...Or Worse!

I made this little shadow box for my daughter.  When she was about 4 or 5 she was telling my husband why she would rather sleep with him than me when she had a bad dream or woke up in the middle of the night.  Here is the quote, which might be hard to read on the glass.

"You know when you're lying in bed with Mom and you're rolling around smelling her?  She smells terrible...like a brown egg, or a raw banana...or worse!"

My sweet daughter invited me into her room today to do some fashion designing.  She would put outfits on her new dress form and I decided to draw them.  Needless to say we had a ton of fun and she is so great at putting outfits together.

I have had a pretty busy day, so I decided to do a sketch.  We had half a day of school today, so no lunch.

Here is my final piece from the fruit collection.  The bowl is designed after my favorite fruit bowl of all time.  Sadly, it was broken this summer and only the memory and this picture remains. 

The lunch today was enchiladas and they were so great.  The rice is some of the best I have ever had.  I will let you know that our school lunches are REALLY good.

I thought I would add a little side project to the blog...LUNCH...I am going to try and photograph school lunch and post it as well. 

cHiLi aNd HoT dOgS

I worked on a couple of projects to day.  The first was getting photos in the snow and the second was a sketch with my friends Cobra Joe and Rachel in mind.

Improvements

Well I added some pockets with buttons and a little ruffle at the top.  I also added a little more stitching here and there.  I had the worst needles for my machine yesterday, which added to my frustration.  When it was all said and done I went through 5 needles in one day.  I broke my last one this morning, which forced me to go to the store.  Boy, what a difference the right tools make.
